Finding a Marketing Agency in Skegness: How Businesses Can Get Marketing Help On The Coast

Firstly, it's important to state that the purpose of this blog is not to "toot our own trumpet" and push you our way. Instead, the purpose of this blog is to provide free help and advice on how to find a local marketing company to help your business grow during and beyond this extremely unpredictable and worrisome time.

We don't want any businesses to suffer so much that they must close down as a result of Coronavirus. Sadly, it's inevitable that some will, but this doesn't mean to say we can't do as much as we possibly can to aid and assist those who can survive.

With that said, let's get on with the advice!

Google Away

We don't want to state the obvious here but Google to your heart's content. We all know Google holds the answer (almost) always. Take a look for "local marketing agencies" "Skegness marketing companies" etc. or look for more specific help such as "website design Skegness" or "SEO agency Skegness" if you're looking for help with specific areas of marketing.

There are loads of options out there. We're lucky to have a few agencies and freelancers locally, but there are also some further afield who are happy to help on a remote basis (this does mean no small talk over coffee, however).

Consider if you'd rather use a freelancer or an agency or something in between (we're 2 freelancers working under one roof). Also consider the services offered by the business. There is a range of services marketing businesses will provide, and some will offer more than others. More doesn't always mean better. Sometimes it's better to perfect a small number of skills than be mediocre at many.

Some businesses with also partner with others to offer hand in hand services such as website design with basic SEO included.

Here is a list of services you can look for:

  • PPC marketing

  • SEO

  • Social Media

  • Email marketing

  • Website design

  • Content marketing

  • Copywriting (blog writing, article writing etc.)

Ask Away

Online Social networks such as Facebook are a great place to ask other locals for recommendations. Facebook has a unique recommendations tool just for this job. You could also ask on other social networks such as LinkedIn or Twitter.

Google Maps/Google My Business

Another place to look for businesses online is via Google Maps. You can search here directly, and the results will show you the businesses closest to you first. There are other factors at play in how these results are shown but generally speaking, you'll only receive local results. You'll also get a quick overview of the business and its reviews. Which leads nicely onto our next point ...

Check reviews

Before you decide which marketing company you want to use, be sure to check out their reviews. Personally, I've always been slightly hesitant about relying on people's reviews, as you tend to find only those who've had a particularly bad or particular good experience will leave a recommendation - this leads to a skewed representation and not an average one. Either way, they are worth checking out.

Note that some review sites such as Feefo require businesses to invite users to leave a review, meaning only the customers who will leave a good review ever get asked! Facebook and Google reviews are much more reliable as these are public platforms where anyone can leave a comment or review.

Free help for charities

Some marketing companies will offer free or heavily discounted help for non-profits and charities. Here at CC Digital, we choose one charity per year to assist entirely free of charge. Enquire with other companies too as they might do the same.

If you'd like to be considered for our 2021 charity, please contact us here.

Offers available

Many marketing businesses will be able to offer you some signup offers. Often these can be quite lucrative and can save you a good chunk of cash. Google partners like ourselves can offer £120 free Google Ad credit* to new advertisers, and we often get vouchers from social platforms such as Facebook too. Enquire with the company directly to find out what they can offer you.

Hopefully, this advice has shed some light on where you can go to get marketing help in Skegness. We've decided not to name individual companies in this blog post as we don't want to miss anyone out and give others an unfair advantage. Take our tips from this post, and you'll be able to find your perfect marketing agency or freelancer match in no time!
